Electronics – Flashing Lights

Author: Fitzy | Filed under: Uncategorized

In electronics I have completed a flashing light circuit.

To get the lights to flash I used 2 capacitors, 3 resistors, 2 LEDs, 2 transistors and a 9v battery.

Every time the capacitors fill up they release electricity making the LEDs light up. Add more resistors to speed them up and capacitors to slow them down.

ILearn – Reliable and Unreliable Websites

Author: Fitzy | Filed under: ILearn

Today in Ilearn we learnt how to tell if a websites is reliable or not. We had to go onto the school’s Wikipedia page and find 11 errors. I only found 4 errors though. We then had to find some Reliable and some Unreliable websites that are about the moon landing, Pumas in the Grampians, UFO sightings and Global Warming. Here are one of the Reliable (Pumas-http://www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2008/08/22/2342095.htm ) and Unreliable (Moon Landing-http://www.theguardian.com/science/brain-flapping/2012/dec/13/moon-landings-faked-science-confessions) websites. I thought the moon landing website was unreliable because it was based on an opinion, I found a few spelling errors. The website on the Pumas however I thought was Reliable because it had facts to back it up.

ILearn – Smarties

Author: Fitzy | Filed under: ILearn

Today in ILearn we got smarties and counted them, we also learnt a few knew things about excel.

Colour Jordan Ryan Liam Ben Harry Isaac Colour Total Average
Red 0 3 1 3 1 0 8 1.333333
Green 0 1 0 1 2 3 7 1.166667
Blue 3 4 1 4 0 2 14 2.333333
Yellow 3 1 2 1 1 1 9 1.5
Brown 2 3 4 3 4 2 18 3
Purple 3 0 1 0 0 2 6 1
Pink 1 1 2 1 0 1 6 1
Orange 0 3 1 3 1 0 8 1.333333
TOTAL 12 16 12 16 9 11 76

This is what I found. The most common colour was brown. It is easy to use Excel to add things up. Fill is very useful for colour coding things.
